I enjoy writing and if I had more time would write more often. I find it very relaxing and somewhat therapeutic. Although these days I write a lot more on LinkedIn.
I wrote a few short stories about my life in Japan. I lived in Tokyo from October 2000 to August 2002. The short stories are on this blog under the travel section in a tab called Japan.
My interests are varied and numerous so this blog will be a total mishmash of my interesting life. Interesting to me anyway. Stick with me for a while and time permitting; I will give you some insights of my past as I have had several lives, I will tell you what I really think of the industry I work in and share with you my frustrations and adventures.
I have studied NLP and Hypnosis and am qualified in both subjects but am yet to practice. I recently discovered meditation and just love it. I use an app called Headspace.
I played rugby for a great number of years, probably longer than I should have… My last club was Phoenix Rugby Club in Taplow. I am still a member there but only a social member. I played in France, UK and Japan. Rugby players are the same in all countries, partial to alcohol, girls and controlled violence, not necessarily in this order.
I lost my mother when I was ten and my dad when I was eighteen, both in tragic circumstances. For a child or a teenager, this is the worst that can happen. If you can cope with this, pretty much anything else is unlikely to phase you.
I worked for a large Japanese company for 10 years, the last four as European Operations Manager. I left the company in December 2009 and set up a toy distribution business called Asobi which means play in Japanese. I have been in the toy industry ever since. I am now working independently as an international sales agent for various brands. My company is Konomocha.
I am divorced, I live in Bangkok with my son, Rémi and my partner, Jovelyn who runs a fashion jewellery company called ako & sila.
My motto is: No passion, no point!
