When we moved to Bangkok in July 2018 from Hong Kong, I wanted to look into FX trading. I feel that this is something I could be doing in my retirement. Researching online, I found a local group on Meetup that I joined. I met Rick Ray at his favourite spot, Casa Lapin in Ekkamai. There were a few of us on the course. The group was small so you can ask questions and get personal attention. I found the seminar interesting but did not follow up as I got involved in permanent visa, finding new apartment, etc…
In May this year, I did stumble again on the Meetup that had moved online due to Covid. I signed up again but this time decided to follow up with a private course with Rick that took place over two sessions at, you guessed it, Casa Lapin. Rick helped me with opening an account with Fullerton Markets from Singapore.
Another resource I found useful is the Babypips‘ online course. It is really easy to understand and you can take quizzes to make sure you have assimilated the course.
The good news with most of the trading platforms is that you can open a demo account to trade without risk before you feel confident enough to trade with your own money. I love reading and there is plenty of material available online. After reading several blogs and listening to Rick, I decided that I would not be trading live until November this year. I need to build the confidence that I will not blow my account in a couple of weeks.
Fullerton also has CopyPip where you can follow other traders strategy without getting involved in day to day trading. I also have a CopyPip account where I am trading live.
I will publish all monthly results from my demo account, live account and my CopyPip account here.
