I must admit to be a social media addict. I do love my Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Although I have accounts with Pinterest and Google+, I am not so familiar with those networks but this may change in the next few weeks. However, I have decided to stop being member of various groups on LinkedIn as I am totally fed up with promotions and job offers being posted in the discussion section of the various groups I belong to.
I get a daily digest of the groups I belong to but most discussions are in fact promotions or job offers. Why should I have to wade through so much crap to get to the odd nugget of information or interesting discussion? I very much blame the group owner for the total lack of moderation. Surely if you take the responsibility to create a group, you should also take the responsibility to moderate it. I have been wilding the flag as promotion and flag as job button but I can’t do this on my own.
The solution is to ban repeat offenders on the group’s bulletin board. One warning and next time you are off. How difficult is this?
Am I the only person feeling this way?
